Norman has a strong financial and insurance background, having worked for 16 years at First Mutual, a leading Zimbabwean insurance group, where he was instrumental in the transformation of the company from a mutual society to a listed public company. Norman held the following positions at First Mutual:

• Financial Controller
• Divisional Executive (Finance and Information Services)
• Managing Director of the FML Asset Management Company
• Chief Executive for 4 years

Before joining First Mutual, Norman worked at Old Mutual as Corporate Financial Accountant and at Deloitte and Touche Chartered Accountants where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. Norman is a holder of a B.A Accounting degree and a Masters of Business Leadership Degree from the University of South Africa .
