Frontier Energy/ Power and Infrastructure Division
This is an important sector that determines Africa 's development. As Frontier intends to significantly contribute to the development of Africa , We are proud to introduce this division which offers practical consultancy on the following:
1. Identifying and raising finance for, and providing supervisory services to manage, feasibility studies and projects in the generation, transmission, distribution and supply of electricity.
2. Identifying and raising finance for complementary infrastructural services telecommunications, water and transport.
3. Advice on infrastructural sector reforms required to create bankable projects and programs for accessing concessionary funding from bilateral and multilateral developments agencies.
The Division is headed by Engineer Simba Mangwengwende, a holder of a First Class Honours B.Sc. degree and an M.Sc. in Management Technology. Simba was the Chief Executive of ZESA (Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority). His major achievements iinclude:
- Electrification of Residential Suburbs
- Putting in place a successful rural electrification programme in place
- Planning, negotiating and directing the implementation of agreements for the 400kV interconnections to Cahora Bassa (Mozambique ) and Matimba (RSA), which are now the backbone of Zimbabwe 's electricity supply system and the regional grid. He negotiated and helped to establish the founding agreements and vision for the Southern African Power Pool (SAPP)
- Formulating and initial implementation of the electricity industry reform strategy for Zimbabwe
- Undertook consultancy assignments for World Bank and Nigeria Electricity Power Authority
- Undertook IFC and Government of Mozambique for the selection of a developer for the proposed Moatize coal mine and power station
- Undertook World Bank/ESMAP consultancy in the moderation and preparation of proceedings of workshop on Energy and Poverty
- Has written and presented papers at various seminars in East Africa, Europe and USA .
